UK in the south east is having it's first snow since February. The snow has come over from europe. Glad i don't have to drive in bad weather at the moment.

You live in a lovely place, Lady Blunt! I like the pics. Thanks for sharing
It looks like in Germany... the houses... the garden... the trees... the snow.

Cheers, Mona P.

The main downside of snow in the UK, is we can't cope with any amount of snow. There was no post deliveries today, plus my keyboard i ordered for my computer didn't arrive either. Some of our airports also closed and many people was stranded in their cars overnight.
How do countries like Sweden and Switzerland cope with heavy snowfalls?

Only the east of the UK has snow, it came over from europe. When the snow comes over from USA, thats when the west of the UK has most of the snow.

The snow was quite deep where I was in Sussex yesterday. Had a great time building snowmen with the children at nursery.

The pavements around where i live are so slippery. The local council need to get them gritted as soon as possible. Otherwise there are going to be a lot of people with broken limbs this christmas.

Had more snow in Surrey at 2am. Maybe some more snow showers tomorrow.
I'm fed up with the snow already, items in the post are being delayed, some people will not have their christmas presents come on time.
Snow may look pretty on the grass and trees but it cause nothing but trouble in the UK. What about the people stuck in the channel tunnel for hours.

Eurostar channel tunnel nightmare.

Well we've only had light snow, but the roads and pavements where I live are like an ice-rink. The snow froze, and then got topped up overnight. Now I am able to hobble around on my crutches, I can't get out of the house! Just my luck! It does look beautiful, but still... I hope it clears up before Christmas Day!

Why are you on crutches, did you have a fall while out on the snow?

I know the feeling it happen to me many years ago. The horse i was on decided it didn't want to jump a fence, so i went over instead. I couldn't walk for weeks and i had serious pain in the pelvis area.
Wish you a quick recovery in time for christmas.

It's been chaos in the south east of the UK today. With more snow and black ice on the roads. I had to sign on today at the job center, while my dad vist a local hospital. It took my dad 2 hours to get of the hospital car park and another 2 hours to travel a couple of miles to pick me and mum up from a shopping centre. We didn't get home until 9pm. I hate snow

Britians transport system went into mid-winter meltdown yesterday.

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/2780853/Whitemare-before-Christmas-Britains-transport-System-goes-into-meltdown-as-snow-bring-chaos.html

Why are we the only ones, who can't cope with snow and ice. Other countries seem to manage better and they have a lot more snow than us.
I think it's all down to the cost and not sending the gritting lorries out 24/7.

don't worry LB, a lot of airports are closed across Europe as well at the moment...
our regional public transport is suffering delays each year as soon as we see the first snowflake - sometimes even before... hihihi... so it's not just the British who suffer....

I think some people need to play Sim City a bit more...before they get to run the country.

Cheesepairing on gritters is probably going to loose Labour the election.
Twits.

Well, lady blunt, it doesn´t matter where you are.
Snow and cold weather is dreadful if you are forced to go somewhere to do something.

If it is holiday time, however, just imagine, relaxing in front of a warm fire, sipping some warm chocolate, after a day's fun in the snow.

Not bad at all!

Our local council started gritting the pavements yesterday, five days late and just ahead of the thaw!

When i left my sister house yesterday, her road still had snow and ice and should have been gritted. I was clinging on to the side of car, as i didn't want to fall. My dad didn't realize this and shut the boot of the car while my hand was holding onto the car. Thank god the boot of the car only hit my wrist and not my fingers.
