Hi Tartan!

the problem can have different roots but I would offer to run disk C clean up first, at least Microsoft offers this solution as one of the possible - http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-hardware/a-problem-has-been-detected-and-windows-has-been/61759948-bbcc-4269-95f9-2d66453392b1

It depends on the Windows you are using but the problem might be some scheduled automatic updates that are incompatible. So it might be issue of drivers or malware.

The ultimate solution would be Windows re-installation but I would recommend not to do it yourself. Maybe someone of IT guru here will explain everything better that I am able to

My computer is getting more and more slow. I think it's on it's last legs. My nephew has offered to build me a computer, so i need to go out a find a suitable computer to buy. My current computer is a Dell, which has lasted for 10 years.
Still got that invalid message when my computer starts up that hasn't help, could be what causing a problem. Plus i had a couple of windows dumps happen, which doesn't look good.

I think you're right to replace it LB, after 10 years it's probably not worth rebuilding, you'll find a new computer much quicker.  Save all your important documents on a USB stick or CD, so you can put them on your new one.

Had my first problem with my new laptop yesterday. I used it yesterday morning ok, but when i went back on my laptop a few hours later i got an error message come up. I had a start up error come up and had to click on a link to repair it. After about 10 minutes it fixed itself, can't understand why it happen. Fingers crossed i don't have anymore problems happen.

Has anymore upgraded to windows 10?

I have windows 7 with a free invite to upgrade to windows 10. Has anyone upgraded to windows 10 and if so was there any problems or did everything work ok.
If i don't have any answers might go to my local computer shop for advice. As this free upgrade only available for a short time.

Hi Holy I took advantage of the free upgrade too, i've had it now for about 4 months, everything was and is still fine, if it isn't ok for you, you can always go back to windows 7, it will give you the option

You're welcome Holy

I never noticed anything major although some people that were storing photo's on Windows 7 said there was a mix up of the dates on their photo's as they had put them all in date order but they said that they did sort it in the end but it meant they had to start all over again, good luck

It's such a pain to "upgrade", I don't like using my laptop which has windows10. There's always an adjustment period. It's frustrating until it isn't.

Hope you have a better experience with it.
