You are a star purple! would love to have a copy, especially une poupée qui fait non.

I want to add the details to MKAF, I just did a search for the lyrics and it says the title is 'La Poupée qui fait non' Is this right? It was also covered in 1996 by Mylene Farmer?

Hey everyone!

Just got back from Paris! we were not too far...but among 600 000 people, we were not so close to the stage! I mainly watched the big screens, because, of course, the tall people were all in front of me!!! ; )
Anyway, it was great, and really nice to see and hear James sing a few lines in French! I wonder how it felt to be on stage in front of so many people and watching the Eiffel Tower in the background!

I'll try to post all the videos tomorrow! And I'll write the lyrics in French for those who want to practice and sing along!
I hope you enjoyed the show on TV or Radio as well!

Good night for now...
Cheers!

Virginie

hey there!

I've downloaded some photos and videos for you!!! My friend and I, the venue, James, and a bit of the fireworks.
Enjoy! It's the best I could do ; )

http://s24.photobucket.com/albums/c21/virge78/july%2014th%202008%20in%20Paris/

And here are the lyrics in French:
C'est une poupée qui fait non non non non!
Toute la journée, elle fait non non non non!
Elle est tellement jolie iii iii iii iii (pronounced 'ee' as in bee)
que j'en rêve la nuit iiii iii iii iii
C'est une poupée qui fait non non non non!
Toute la journée, elle fait non non non non!

translation:
She's a doll who says no no no no
all day long she says no no no no
She's so pretty
that I dream about her all night long

cheers!

Nearly 9 hours of queue and wait to seeing you and the guys for 3 songs but what a pleasure!

It was a GREAT honour to have you here in Paris for our Bastille Day.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH

You’ve got a lot of courage to come here in that special day to sing a very well known French song in front of more than 500 000 people!

Your French accent is so cute! The crowd was just crazy earring you!

I hope that yesterday night has been a magic night for you and the band as it has been for us in one of the most beautiful place of the world just in front of the Eiffel Tour!

THANKS again. You must feel a little bit French now!

I took some pictures and videos. I’ll post them later.

We love you!!!!

Loved JB's version of C'est une poupee...It was a very nice surprise to hear him sing in french, Michel Polnareff was a pretty cool choice too, wish they had played the entire song, may be some other day...Who knows may be next year he'll sing Serge Gainsbourg's 'Annie aime les sucettes'...lol.

We are all very proud, here in France, of James and his performance yesterday night. He did it better than some other French artist! So no shame please!

Anyway, I had a copy and you’ll find my pictures and videos below.

James was yesteday evening in Paris for the 14th July celebrations.
It was a great moment and even the Eiffel Tower was under a spell... and the 600,000 persons too...
But the more interesting thing is that he sang in french : "La poupée qui fait non" of Michel Polnareff. It was really affecting to hear him with his charming accent and his amazing voice ! Thanks.

It was a brief appearance at the Champ de Mars but it remains one of my fondest memories. I was then a new fan of James and it was my first trip to Paris. I didn't know that he was in the line-up for the Bastille Day concert but my schedule couldn't have been better. On the morning of July 14th, I learnt while reading the hotel's newspaper that James was going to perform at the Champ de Mars in the evening! Fortunately, our return flight to Montreal was the next day and nothing could have stopped me from going there.

So, my husband and I attended this open air concert among a crowd of 600,000 people! Almost an historical event that it would be unthinkable to organize today with the current social climate and the security concerns. It was surreal to be there and to hear James on stage performing in French one of the greatest hits of the French songbook. Another big surprise awaited us at the very end of the concert ... we turned around to admire the fireworks starting at the Eiffel Tower. The first 5 minutes were dedicated to the 400th anniversary of Quebec City! Can you imagine the smile on our face, both incredulous to be there at this historic moment. Wow!

And yesterday, it was a thrill for me to add the songs to setlist.fm and to tick the box "I was there".
