I like it a lot! I like this one and Paradise, California, Over, Bartender, heartbeat, I have it on repeat, but I need more to heard the others more times, the only one with I can hardly compenetrate is Time of Our lives, it sounds like a private conversation for me, so I prefer close the door and let them talk

"Lose My Number"

Did you forget to call me?
Or baby did you lose my number?
Don't tell me that you're sorry
Whose covers are you sleeping under?

I was just across the street
And I just wanted to reach out
Thinking we could get together
And I didn't mean to stalk you
But I saw that guy you talked to
Everybody knows I'm jealous

And I know it's not all about me
I know that you don't come easily
But you reach from the stars and it's worth it
If you're gonna act like we're just friends
Throw away the messages I sent
If you're playin' a game, then it's workin'

Did you forget to call me?
Or baby did you lose my number?
Don't tell me that you're sorry
Whose covers are you sleeping under?
You know I just want someone that I can love
Someone that I can love
Someone that I can love, can love
Did you forget to call me?
Or baby did you lose my number?
(Did you lose my number?)

And I really thought you liked me
Since you did invite me
And your modern friends to hang out
And I guess what hurts the most is
I know I've just been ghosted
Who knew you could you be so calloused

Did you forget to call me?
Or baby did you lose my number?
Don't tell me that you're sorry
Whose covers are you sleeping under?
You know I just want someone that I can love
Someone that I can love
Someone that I can love, can love
You know I just want someone that I can love
Someone that I can love
Someone that I can love, can love
Did you forget to call me?
Or baby did you lose my number?

I was just across the street,
And I just wanted to reach out
Thinking we could get together

You know I just want someone that I can love
Someone that I can love
Someone that I can love, can love
You know I just want someone that I can love
Someone that I can love
Someone that I can love, can love
Did you forget to call me?

Written by Ryan Tedder, James Blunt and Zack Skelton

I love the music and James' vocal sound amazing, but the lyrics sounds stalker creepy.

Safe in the belief that James isn't a stalker, I listen to this and laugh. I'm imagining a scenario where James, in drunken stupor, writes down the number he knows best. No, not his mother's number, not his own number (because you don't call yourself). No, he gave her the pizzeria number. The guy you saw her with was the pizza delivery guy, James!! Imagine her surprise when she called, jeeze!!

But I should point out that most women feel vulnerable all the time. On average, we are physically weaker. Maybe men are afraid of women laughing at them, but women are afraid of men killing them. So please consider that pov.

Oh, lastly, it's just best not to say things like "I didn't mean to stalk you." / "I'm not a stalker." If that notion didn't occur to her before, it suddenly just did. LOL . The only way, then, to put her at ease, and not look like a stalker, is to then ask her for the guy's phone number.

One of my favorites, even the very high voice is not "annoying" in this song.

My new ring tone.

The phrase modern friends really bugged me. I thought maybe it's a typo as there are a couple of other typos in the lyrics booklet. I thought maybe the word should have been model .

It finally occurred to me that 'modern friends' is use as in David Bowie's 'Modern Love'. As in, that which passes as friendship currently. I think he means friends in social media (ie facebook friends).

So I think the song is about the superficial transient nature of friendship on social media. We stalk each other, but we don't really know one another. And that, actual human contact is a better connection, or maybe not.

I liking it a lot more now

What do you think of this?

Picking a favorite song feels like picking a favorite child (even though I do it every album), but this song might bust out ahead of the rest of some extremely strong tracks & be the best one on this album.
I could see this being a huge hit.

If, like me, you were not sure about the meaning of "ghosted", this text explains it well.

Everything you need to know about 'ghosting' - the terrible way to dump someone that's becoming increasingly popular thanks to dating apps
