Pop princess Kylie Minogue will perform for the Queen at a star-studded show to celebrate her 90th birthday.

The Australian star, 47, will be joined at the televised event by tenor Andrea Bocelli, opera singer Katherine Jenkins and pop star Jess Glynne as the nation celebrates the milestone of its longest-lived monarch.

The celebration, taking place on the private grounds of Windsor Castle and broadcast live on ITV, will tell the story of the Queen's life from her birth in 1926, through the Second World War, to her coronation in 1953 and a reign spanning more than 60 years.

Also performing will be soul singer Beverley Knight, actor Martin Clunes and Wolf Hall star Damian Lewis.

Absolutely Fabulous comedian Jennifer Saunders, stage and screen actress Imelda Staunton and presenter Alan Titchmarsh will also participate in the celebration.

Hosts Ant and Dec said: "We are honoured to be hosting this special celebration of Her Majesty the Queen's 90th birthday.

"This spectacular evening will bring together some of the best known names in the entertainment world who will perform with 900 horses and 1,500 participants to mark this very special birthday."

Performers in the arena will include The Oman Royal Cavalry, Chilean Huasos and Dancers, The New Zealand Army Band, The Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Azerbaijani Dancers and Djigitovka Horses and Riders, State Carriages from The Royal Mews, The South Australian Police Band, The King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery, The Fijian Armed Forces Band and Dancers, 100 Military and Commonwealth Pipers and The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment.

The show will take place on May 15.

All the media repeat more or less the same information, but capelino.com mentions that "Tickets for the concert were sold out in just a few hours." I hope that we'll be able to watch the show on TV throughout the Commonwealth's countries. I'd like to see Carson from Downtown Abbey and The Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

A nice souvenir here when James performed for the Queen (his former boss...) in 2007 at The Royal Variety Performance in Liverpool.

THE EVENT
Her Majesty’s 90th Birthday Party will be a celebration of The Queen’s life, her love of horses, her dedication to the Commonwealth and international affairs and her deep involvement with the Navy, Army and Air Force.

Over 90 minutes, 900 horses and more than 1,500 participants from around the United Kingdom and the World will create a joyful event for The Queen. The 90-year journey will take us from the excitement of the birth, through to World War Two, her marriage, the coronation and a reign of more than 60 years. The Celebration will use horses, actors, bands and dancers to tell the story.

The celebration will be created by the team that organised the successful Diamond Jubilee Pageant in Windsor in 2012. This time, technology will play an important part in the celebration. The 90-minute experience will be a fusion of the latest video projection, LED effects and theatrical lighting. The finale will be a kaleidoscope of memories and achievements.

It will be a Birthday Party fit for The Queen.

ITV REPORT, 11 May 2016

Stars lift lid on the Queen's 90th birthday 'extravaganza' chronicling her life
A final star-studded performance chronicling the events of the Queen's life will be held on Sunday in the grounds of Windsor Castle.

James Blunt, who left the army in 2002, will be singing during the performance - backed up by some of his old military colleagues.

What I wasn't expecting is I've got the Household Cavalry as my backing dancers. It's been a long time but there are some familiar faces there.

It's really amazing, there are incredible memories, that's how I ended up in the army having been four years as a reconnaissance officer my last two years were as the Queen's Horse Guard, kind of doing what they're doing. – JAMES BLUNT

I'm so happy for James that he will be performing at this "once in a lifetime" event in presence of the Household Cavalry Regiment. Must means a lot to him.

'Spectacular evening' in store for Queen's birthday show

Presenters Ant and Dec have promised a spectacular evening of entertainment, ahead of the televised celebration of the Queen's 90th birthday.

The duo will host the ITV show from the grounds of Windsor Castle in the presence of the Queen.

It will feature more than 900 horses and 1500 performers, as well as rare archive footage of the monarch.

Ant and Dec said: "We are honoured to be hosting this special celebration of Her Majesty The Queen's 90th birthday.

"This spectacular evening will bring together some of the best-known names in the entertainment world who will perform with 900 horses and 1500 participants to mark this very special birthday."

Downton Abbey star Jim Carter and his wife Imelda Staunton will celebrate the Queen's childhood years, with Carter narrating and Staunton singing.

He said: "I'm thrilled to be asked to play a part in the Queen's 90th birthday celebrations. I will be narrating a section of the programme that spotlights her childhood - I believe that Shetland ponies are also involved! I can't reveal too much as I wouldn't want to spoil the surprise."

Dame Helen Mirren will take audiences through the Queen's teenage years before Katherine Jenkins performs I Vow To Thee My Country. Alan Titchmarsh will talk the audience through the Queen's estates and her love of family, horses, dogs and the countryside.

Other performers include James Blunt and Dame Shirley Bassey, while Gary Barlow, Andrea Bocelli, Kylie Minogue and Damian Lewis will also take to the stage.

The Queen's 90th Birthday Celebration airs on Sunday at 8.35pm on ITV.

Thank you for all the videos and pictures jbfan. I was lucky enough to see the entire TV show and it was fantastic but I'm always very interested to see the behind-the-scenes preparations and rehearsals as well. It's a reminder of how much work it takes to put on even a small show - let alone a colossal spectacle like this. James must feel very proud to be a part of it!
