I got the confirmation from Smooth FM that it won't be a repeat of the shows James did last year but all new material. Isn't it amazing that he managed to do it while being on a world tour?

Smooth FM 91.5 (Melbourne) and Smooth FM 95.3 (Sydney)

http://www.smoothfm.com.au/station/national/shows/james-blunt-smoothfm

Superstar James Blunt is returning to the smoothfm family, with his own show every Sunday at 4pm
James Blunt is one of the world’s best musicians and now, he returns to the smoothfm airwaves, hosting his very own show every Sunday at 4pm.

The British singer-songwriter joined us on the station last year, adding radio host to his long list of accomplishments, and we can't wait to welcome him back to the studio!

James has recently released his fourth album, Moon Landing, featuring beautiful tracks like 'Bonfire Heart'.

Is this a radio broadcast for women only?

To many love songs. Almost all songs seem to be selected for a typical girls playlist.

Don't think this is his own choice. It is a wonderful selection, but I AM a woman!

He only lend them his voice to annouce the music program.

James will be back on Smooth FM on Saturday, October 3rd 2015.

http://www.smoothfm.com.au/article/james-blunt-returns-smoothfm

James Blunt returns to smoothfm!

Award winning singer-songwriter James Blunt is making his return to the smoothfm all-star weekend line-up on Saturday 3 October at 4pm.

James Blunt said: “Lucky me, I get to spend an hour with you on smoothfm. I hope you’ll spend some time to relax with me and some wonderful music”.

Blunt rose to prominence with the chart-topping singles “You’re Beautiful” and “Goodbye My Lover,” that regularly feature on the smoothfm playlist.

Since hitting the music scene in 2003, Blunt has sold over 20 million albums and 20 million singles worldwide, been awarded two Brit Awards, two MTV Video Music Awards and received five Grammy Award nominations.

After initially being introduced to the Australian television audience as a guest judge for Danni Minogue on X-Factor last year, Blunt returned to Australia this year as a judge for the 2015 season.

To coincide with his time in Australia, Blunt has released a limited edition box set of his four studio albums in Australia. I’ll Take Everything is available now and features his debut album Back to Bedlam which spent 12 weeks at #1 on the ARIA album chart, All The Lost Souls, Some Kind of Trouble and his most recent album Moon Landing.

Peter Clay, smoothfm Program Director said, “Not only is James a talented musician he also has a humorous take on life. His hit single You’re Beautiful continues to be one of our listener’s favourite songs. We are delighted James has chosen to return to smoothfm to host his show.”

James Blunt will be heard on smoothfm 95.3 Sydney, smoothfm 91.5 Melbourne and on smoothfm DAB+ on Saturdays from 4pm to 5pm.

I missed the first show last Saturday, October 3rd. If someone around here has recorded the podcast or has written down the playlist, it would be much appreciated. None of them are available from Smooth FM.

I wasn't going to miss the second show to hear James' soothing voice from Australia which meant being online at 1am. Well, the show must have been pre-recorded and, to be honest, James is not very talkative because on Smooth FM, the catchphrase is "More music, less talk"...

Thanks to a good team work, the podcast will be uploaded soon on the web. I have to thank also my iPod Touch for giving me the songs' titles and performers' names because I didn't know several of them.

2nd show aired on 10 October 2015

Can't Take My Eyes Off You - Frankie Valli and the 4 Seasons

You Give Me Something - James Morrison

The First Cut Is The Deepest - Rod Stewart

There Must Be An Angel (Playing With My Heart) - Eurythmics

All Out Of Love - Air Supply

Hold On - Michael Bublé

Stayin' Alive - Bee Gees

She Makes My Day - Robert Palmer

Lovin' You - Minnie Riperton

I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me) - Aretha Franklin/George Michael

Save The Last Dance For Me - The Drifters

When I Was Your Man - Bruno Mars

Make It With You - Bread

King Of Wishful Thinking - Go West

I'm sad it's the last show. I wish I found this topic earlier, I could have had a lot of fun in here. As for the playlist this week, I'm not sure if you are telling me our pseudo relationship is over or if you want me back for good. Lol I think you are trying to confuse me. Make up your mind already. I'll probably stick around awhile longer if that's okay with you. I have a lot of catching up to do. xx

James Blunt joins Smooth FM weekend line-up

RadioInfo.com.au
Monday 22 May, 2017

Singer-songwriter James Blunt returns to smoothfm’s weekend line-up to host his own show on Sunday afternoons from 28 May.

Best known for his hits You’re Beautiful, Goodbye My Lover, 1973, Bonfire Heart and When I Find Love Again, Blunt recently released a new album ‘The Afterlove’ which debuted at number seven in Australia. This follows four previous albums which collectively sold 20 million copies.

Last month Blunt performed Don’t Give Me Those Eyes from the new album at the TV Week Logie Awards, which jumped into the top five in Australia following the performance.

He loves spending time in Australia and shot the video for Don’t Give Me Those Eyes on Sydney’s northern beaches whilst he was here.

“I’ve had a great time in this country, I was so lucky really to come here to hang out on X Factor, lived on Bondi…I’ve been looked after phenomenally by the Aussies, toured here so many times, so I’m always incredibly grateful to be back, thanks for having me,” Blunt said.

Blunt will join Ed Sheeran on his American tour next month before headlining his own tour through Europe and the UK.

Blunt joins a star-studded line-up of smoothfm guest hosts including Dolly Parton, Barry Gibb, Neil Diamond, Elton John and Olivia Newton-John.

James Blunt can be heard on smoothfm 95.3 Sydney, smoothfm 91.5 Melbourne and on smoothfm DAB+ from Sunday 28 May to Sunday 18 June from 4pm.
