12 is an empty track so 13. with Turn Me On stand a bit extra from the other songs...James said, that his record lable didn't really want it on the album, but he wanted it on there... hence the "gap"

but this doesn't explain why others (from other countries, I think in the UK) have this track 12.. ( a song called "there she goes again")..
strange thing..

I've got my own copy and wow, I don't know what to say at the moment. I'm just enthralled by this...... I needed him and his music so much.

When I'll be able to think I'll write you something better

Love them all so far....I'd have to say "Turn Me On" has a lot going for it but for pure catchy "Stay The Night"

At least you guys get to listen to the album. I live in the United States and I still haven't heard it. I ordered the special edition one. I figured living in the United States I would not have mine on time, but we received an e-mail saying that there was a delay and they wouldn't even be shipped until Nov. 10. They also told us though that they would include a full version download in our e-mail with our live download. At 9:00pm at night I finally got the live download, but not the full album download. They did not include it. I'm very frustrated that his album is out but I cannot listen to it because of where I live. I know a lot of people go through with that with artists they love because of where they live, but I find it really frustrating. I've loved James forever and I've waited for this album forever and I paid a lot of money for the pre-order but I can't even hear it once. Sorry to ruin the fun. I'm glad everyone is enjoying the album though, sounds like it's incredible.

Album arrived today, gonna give it a few listens before I write about it properly - so far, wow it's very different sounding to the first two (have to admit, I'll Be Your Man is just brilliant!)

When I arrived at work last night the new album was waiting for me.  I managed (somehow) to resist inserting it into my work computer and now it's playing on my CD player - which is where it will be staying for the forseeable future!

This album is absolutely fantastic, awesome, brilliant, mesmerising, fascinating...I just can't find enough words to describe how I feel about it.  I really feel this is the most polished, well rounded, sophisticated album of the three produced by James so far.  There is such a great mix of songs on it I really feel there is something to please everyone - unless they're tone deaf!

I also love the way the booklet shows all the guitar chords with the lyrics - I can't play the guitar but for those fans who do, what a great gift to include - James has in fact made this into a mini song book for those fans who want to play along!  So original and so generous.

Talking of generous...there is a little sticker on the front saying if I insert the CD into my computer I will get a bonus track and 2 live videos!  I'm amazed as I only ordered the standard CD and got it for a good price too - thank you James for giving us such value for money.

Thank you James, the band, the co writers, Atlantic Records and everybody involved in producing this absolute diamond of an album.  I'm totally bowled over by it and to paraphrase a line from Stay The Night - "[Boy] you blow my mind you do!" ...and you're never out of tune!

PS: In my enthusiasm I wrongly posted on the other thread in the News section first...sorry Billy, I'll go back now and edit it down.

Too bad for you Wiss, I hope you'll get it very soon !

I'm so glad that we can listen and download the live version of "if time is all I have" in the computer. It is so much more emotionnal live, so much power. I was a little bit disappointed from the CD version , I love the accoustic version : only the piano and James' voice, I'm in heaven !!!

You think I would entrust my computer to 'taking in and playing'  the cd? dear Gd its an old one. It could be in there for eternity!!

My copy of the album arrived yesterday and has been locked safly in my work drawer. The new cd player arrives tonight. So you know what I'll be listening to this weekend.

What happened to track 12?

I've only just got around to listening to it (shame on me I know), but I have played it back to back 4 times this afternoon and I think the lyrics are amazing. B2B will always be the most phenomenal for me, but this is looking to match, even surpass, it. Love it.

Does anybody remember the initial UK chart position of ATLS, in the first week of its release? I didn't join the site until about Feb 08 and was impressed that it had gone up to number 8....then somebody told me it hadpreviously been number 1.

the answer comes late, W'fan, but it comes...
ATLS started #1 in the UK album charts (first time listed: 29th September 2007)

My Amazon review:

A Tantalizing Taste Of Trouble.

This is James Blunt's best music.......by far.

Every track has a different tempo and feel. The album balances out really well as the majority of songs have a positive note in contrast to the raw, sad song, 'If Time Is All I Have' which gives a taste of the James Blunt we all know and love.

It is difficult to choose a favorite as listening to the whole album each song in progression is just as good, if not better, than the one before.

The music is so well produced, with a much bigger, broader and deeper sound.

For me it is a welcome departure from James stood at the front wearing his musical heart on his sleeve. Now he and the band are more integrated and the fun of it shines through.

If music soothes the savage beast this album would have the beast up and dancing.

Have listened to SKOT all weekend now and it is just phenomenal. The musical arrangement, composition and lyrics are outstanding. I can hear elements of Hall and Oates, Faith (George Michael), Fleetwood Mac, a touch of folk and rock. An eclectic mix that commands you to sing along and tap your toes. At one point this weekend I was told by my 12 year old to turn my music down - there's a role reversal for you!

This album is such a contrast to All The Lost Souls - listening to it, it's like the feeling when you've just realised something and now everything makes sense.
Like stepping out of a funk and things just seem to fit.

The overall sound is positive; I think from what I see/hear of the lyrics, they're more hopeful and filled with expectation. It took a couple of listens to get used to the change in music style - the same goes with the transition between Back To Bedlam and All The Lost Souls.
Some Kind Of Trouble gets better the more I listen, and I've not come across a song that I want to skip.

Will there be a LIVE recording of the album? I wish the last song had been on the album the same way that James sings it in concert. Alone. its so much better.

and song 13. I like. just the way it is!
